Culturesphere presents Art, Craft & Design
in the context of corporate innovation and
and explores potential learning opportunities from creative processes and approaches of innovative artists, designers and makers.
Creative thinking, hence the skill to generate ideas and to solve complex problems, is
generally accepted as a fundamental driver for innovation. In this regard, research shows that creativity is directly influenced by work environments. Besides practical and functional
attributes of workplaces, particularly aesthetic and sensory factors, as well as symbolic
qualities play an important role here.
Creativity requires inspirational and emotional
frameworks, which foster motivation and openness for change, and facilitate the
development of a creative attitude. In particular
the engagement with contemporary craft, its experimental approach, its deeply humanistic
values, and its focus on handcrafted quality
and sustainability offers here a unique propostion - especially in times of anonymisation and standardisation caused by digital change and mass consumption.
